A rare concert performance by Lonnie Donegan recorded in 1997 features many of his famous hits. He was an iconic figure whose music was deeply rooted in the blues. In the 1950s, his innovative arrangements of traditional black American music introduced blues, work songs and spirituals to a younger generation in Britain and he was the spark that ignited a whole new direction in British music
